The villa is located in the countryside, on the edge of 'Le Murge' - the upland plains
of Puglia, between Carovigno and Specchiolla - about 2 kms from the sea.

                Carovigno Castle

Carovigno, the town which is our own comune, is the last town on the edge of Le
Murge, before the land gradually falls in height to meet the flat-ish coastal plain
of Brindisi. Our location right on the edge of Le Murge accounts for our seaview,
over the olive groves and countryside. The sea is 2 km away, (slightly more by road) with various beach resorts, small ports, and the internationally protected nature reserve of Torre Guaceto (see Sights page).

Carovigno itself is an historic town, rich in folkloric festivals. For a small town
(circa 14,000 inhabitants) it is surprisingly lively, with numerous good restaurants,
a market on Tuesday mornings, an internet café, and at least 5 web sites dedicated to the town. There are many festivals in the summer, but the big event is the religious and secular celebrations at Easter time, including the Nzegna.

There are shops selling everything from mobile phones and computersto wedding dresses, and, for foodies, there are fresh pasta shops, fresh cheese shops, bakeries, greengrocers, fishmongers and butchers, as well as a number of supermarkets (the biggest and probably the best being the 'GS' between Carovigno and San Vito), at about 3km from the villa. There is even a web cam in the main piazza in Carovigno. (Be a little patient for this, but it's fun to see what's happening - and what the weather is like!)

The villa is conveniently placed for both Brindisi airport (20 minutes) and Bari airport (about 65 minutes). It is also within a short drive of many places of interests (see Sights), and, with so many beaches and interesting walks within 5 - 20 minutes, where better to spend your holiday?
